Sam Braddy spent years being pursued by his own personal Trouble Cloud, a spectrehe’d doodle during class as he was shuttled between the five different high schools of his youth. “It was made of dark feelings: feelings like I'm out of place, feelings like I don't belong,” Braddy says; he lived everywhere from Utah to Arizona in his youth and his only escape was music.

“I felt a lot of isolation growing up,” he explains. “I was depressed. I kind of found refuge in music. I didn't want to hang out with anybody. I didn't want to make any friends.I didn't want to really let people in. I felt like the only way I could be honest was when I was writing music. I picked up the guitar and it felt right.”

Braddy grew up worshiping at the feet of the likes of Dave Grohl, whom he revered for being a jack of all trades, as well as alt-rockers like My Chemical Romance, Smashing Pumpkins, the 1975, and, mostly recently, Wet Leg. He started playing guitar at age 11 after being blown away by a video of Jimi Hendrix, and went on to masterguitar, bass, drums and piano. After suffering through high school—and trying his hand at being a frontman with a few local bands —Braddy decided to stick to solo, shunning college for local shows and odd jobs.

Braddy became trubbleboy, his musician alter ego, after one day in high school when a classmate caught him drawing Trouble Cloud in his notebook. The next time his friend saw Braddy, he called him Trouble Boy, and the name stuck.

trubbleboy was signed by Bright Antenna Records in 2022, a milestone in his career he counts as one of the highlights —right up there with playing with the 1975 and I Don’t Know How But They Found Me. Now, he’s prepping to drop his next single, the brutal “Baby UR Dead 2 Me” on July 14th 2022 via Bright Antenna Records.

“It’s about betrayal —a time when my ex-girlfriend slept with my best friend,” he says. “I suspected something and they kept it from me for months. I already have trust issues. This sent me over the edge. I tried to handle it the best way I could —by writing a song.”
